Donetta Dunnigan joined the Agricultural Education and Communication Department in 2006. Donetta had spent the previous 10 years working in the Liberal Studies Department at Cal Poly. She is no stranger to the College of Agriculture since she began her career at Cal Poly in the Agribusiness Department in 1979. She also worked for the Dept. of Education as the adult treasurer to the FHA-HERO organization and her office was housed in the Agricultural Education Dept.
Donetta is the youngest of three children and was born in Exeter, California. At a young age, her family relocated to the central coast to own and operate a hamburger stand in Avila Beach and has lived on the Central Coast ever since. She is a graduate of San Luis Obispo High School. Mrs. Dunnigan was an active 4H member and showed market lambs at the Midstate Fair. Donetta was very involved with the Atascadero FFA while her children were members. Many summers were spent camping at the Midstate Fair.
Mrs. Dunnigan and her husband, George, reside in Santa Margarita. She has two children, Glen Rosson and Shelby Macdonald. Donetta is eagerly awaiting the arrival of two grandchildren in October 2015 and April 2016.
