Minors in Agricultural Education and Communication

If you are interested in adding a minor in Agricultural Communication, Education or Leadership, please complete the Adobe Sign form found at the link for each catalog.

AGC minor students can became a dynamic professional in the agricultural industry through print, broadcast and public relations. Take courses in the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. Participate in the Cal Poly Chapter of the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and the Brock Center for Agricultural Communication.  Contact Dr. Mike at mmike@calpoly.edu with any questions.

Students pursuing the AGED minor address subject matter competency requirements for the Single Subject-Agriculture and the Agriculture Specialist teaching credentials. Students are encouraged to express interest early in their academic program in order to get proper advisement relative to public school teaching requirements. Ag Leadership minor students will develop and improve their leadership ability and self-awareness as they become more effective communicators. They learn followership, communication, teamwork, diversity and inclusion through practical experiences. Students will enhance and apply leadership theory in their coursework and career paths.
