Students get AMP'D!

The AMP'D Experience (short for The Agricultural Mechanics Power and Design Experience) is a camp conducted by the South Coast Region Agricultural Education Consortium in conjunction with the Cal Poly Agricultural Education & Communication Department. It's goal is to take highly talented high school agricultural mechanics students and allow them to have a college experience refining their mechanics skills as well as talking to them about pursuing careers in agricultural education. The AMP'D Experience is held every Summer on campus.
Masters Degree Program

This learn by doing program will help you grow your knowledge and skills while developing relationships with your colleagues. Information about the Masters program may also be found at: https://aged.calpoly.edu/ and click on the Master of Agricultural Education Degree link in the menu at right. Professionals currently working on their program requirements should periodically visit with their advisors to stay on-track. Teacher Candidates Around the State

There are currently 16 teacher candidates completing their fulltime student teaching experiences. Thank you to the following high schools for their assistance with student teaching placements: Atascadero, Chowchilla, Coast Union, Exeter, Firebaugh, Frontier, Gustine, King City, Nipomo, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, Shafter, and Shandon.

National Winner

Agriculture Communication senior, Kenna Lewis recently competed in the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers and Ranchers National Collegiate Discussion Meet in Kansas City, Missouri. Fifty competitors from 34 states took part in the contest. Kenna was named CHAMPION and received a scholarship for $2,500 from sponsor CHS. She is from San Luis Obispo.

CATA AgriSkills Workshops

Every year, CATA hosts a professional development series following closing ceremonies for summer conference. AgriSkills begins Thursday, June 23 at 1pm and runs through Friday, June 24 at 5pm. To receive 1 semester unit of credit, you must attend three, four-hour sessions. Workshops are offered for every pathway and management challenge.
